Creating works for gallery and street presentation both are created with the purpose of making a connection with the individual and getting them to ask more questions. More questions about their own existence, more questions about the existence of each other together and the systems we have been forcefully raised in without question. We are at a turning point in our lives, our history, and the systems we live in. Now is the time to learn our truths, each other’s truths, and the truths of the histories we have lived and have been taught our entire lives. Only together can we understand each other, heal, and hold systems of biased accountable for the benefit of change and truly heal.

As an artist creating art based on not only my truths and trauma but the truths and traumas fed by our faulted systems i have been able to address and heal a lifetime worth of trauma for myself. If it wasn’t my decision as an artist to change my focus from nearly 20 years of photography to painting and multimedia art, I’m not sure I’d be the person i needed to be today in order to bring you these works. The ability to transfer energy outwardly onto canvas and other objects has been the defining tool in my journey of growth and insightful healing.
